This is the combination of using an infrared sauna and a cold plunge tank, often referred to as the Nordic Cycle. When you expose yourself to extreme cold and hot temperatures, your body releases different shock proteins which activates your immune system in different ways. The benefits of both hot and cold therapy forms are synergistic because humans have evolved to adapt and become more resilient when exposed to extreme circumstances on opposing sides of the spectrum.
